The viewer only lists what the file actually contains, so a photo with no metadata gives an empty, reassuring result.

Check where a photo was taken

If a photo has GPS tags, the viewer shows the stored coordinates. That is useful both ways: to check your own photos before posting, and to understand how much a photo you received gives away. To remove only the location, use Remove GPS from photo.

A private EXIF viewer

Most online EXIF viewers upload your photo to their server to read it, which defeats the purpose if the photo is private. Pixhide reads the metadata with JavaScript inside your browser tab, so the file never leaves your device.

How do I view the metadata of a photo?

Open the photo on this page. Every EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP field Pixhide finds is listed by name with its value, right in your browser.

Can I see where a photo was taken?

Yes, if the file still contains GPS tags. The viewer shows the coordinates stored in the file. Many photos downloaded from social networks have had them removed already.

Why does my photo show no metadata?

Screenshots, images saved from social networks and many edited exports carry little or no EXIF. That is normal, and it means there is less to worry about.

Can I remove the metadata after viewing it?

Yes. One button downloads a clean copy with all private tags removed. For batches, use the EXIF remover.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser. Unlike many online EXIF viewers, Pixhide never receives your photo.
