Your photos stay on your device
Pixhide processes images in your browser. There is no upload step and no cloud processing of your files.
What happens to your photo
When you open an image, it is decoded and analyzed in your browser using WebAssembly. Pixhide does not receive your file, the detected areas or the exported result.
Face and license plate detection models are downloaded to your device only after you select an image on a page that needs them. Metadata tools such as Remove GPS never load those models.
HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhone are opened locally as well. If your browser cannot decode them on its own, Pixhide loads a converter that also runs only in your browser.
What the download contains
Redacted areas are merged into new pixel data, so they cannot be removed later. Privacy-sensitive metadata such as GPS, device and camera details, timestamps, authors, serial numbers, embedded thumbnails and similar EXIF, IPTC or XMP fields is removed by re-encoding the file in your browser.
What we do collect
Anonymous product counters only: which tool page was opened, whether someone chose a photo or downloaded a result, and roughly where people left. These counters never include your image, file name, EXIF contents, GPS coordinates or any account data. There are no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
Fonts and icons are served from this site, so opening Pixhide does not contact Google Fonts or other third parties.
Limits
Automatic detection can miss objects or be unavailable on very old browsers. Manual redaction always works. Prefer strong pixelation or solid cover for sensitive content.
