Your photos stay on your device
Pixhide is built for local processing. When you open an image, it is decoded and analyzed in your browser using WebAssembly. We do not receive your file.
Face and license-plate detection models are downloaded to your device only after you select an image on pages that need them. Metadata-only tools such as Remove GPS never load those models.
On download, redactions are baked into new pixel data. Privacy-sensitive metadata — GPS, device and camera details, timestamps, authors, serial numbers, embedded thumbnails, and similar EXIF/IPTC/XMP fields — is removed by re-encoding the file in the browser.
Limits: automatic detection may miss objects or fail on unsupported browsers. Manual redaction is always available. Prefer strong pixelation or solid cover for sensitive content.
